Disney World family suites, and every room that sleeps 5 or 6

Short answer: a family of five has more choice than most people think. A family of six has very little. Five fits a standard room at Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach, and most Deluxe hotel rooms. Six needs a family suite, a cabin, a villa or club level, and the two family suites are the cheapest by a long way.

Six on a budget$534.50Two rooms at Pop Century, for the pair

Disney’s own prices a night, before tax, for 4 nights from Sunday, February 7, 2027, as Disney listed them on October 23, 2026. Two adults and three kids aged 10, 8 and 6, or four kids for six (adding a 4-year-old). Your dates will price differently.

How Disney counts your party

Disney counts everyone aged 3 and up, and every room also takes one child under 3 in a crib. So two adults and three kids aged 7, 4 and 1 count as a party of four, and you don’t need any of the rooms below.

Every “sleeps” on this page comes from Disney’s own limit for that room, not the resort. That matters: at Caribbean Beach the standard rooms take five but the king room takes two.

Rooms that sleep 5

Most Deluxe hotel rooms take five: the Contemporary from $698.50, Yacht Club $738.50, BoardWalk Inn $760.25, Beach Club $769.25, the Polynesian $858.50 and the Grand Floridian $895.25. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge are the exceptions. Their standard rooms sleep four.

We’d look at Port Orleans Riverside first. At $367.75 it’s about $331 a night less than the cheapest Deluxe room that takes five, and there’s a boat to Disney Springs. Caribbean Beach’s standard rooms take five too, and it’s on the Skyliner. It was sold out for our dates.

Rooms that sleep 6

This is where it gets hard. For our February week, 13 of the 24 places with a room for six had nothing left that fits. For five, it was 4 of 26.

Past the family suites and the cabins, everything for six is a villa, a suite or club level. The cheapest of those was a 2 Bedroom Villa at Saratoga Springs, $1,122.25 a night.

Family suites: Art of Animation or All-Star Music?

Only two Disney World resorts sell rooms called family suites. Both sleep six, both have two bathrooms and a kitchenette, and both are Value resorts.

BedsA queen, a double sofa bed and a double pull-down bedA queen and two queen pull-down beds

Week of January 10$527.50$377.25
Week of March 7$622$468.75
Week of April 25$577$422

The price gap barely moves: All-Star Music was about $150 a night less every week we checked. Over a 4-night stay that’s $601 to $620. We’d pay the extra for the Skyliner if EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are your big days. If they aren’t, All-Star Music is the better deal, and the beds are bigger.

Two rooms instead of one?

For six, two standard rooms can cost less than one suite. Two Pop Century rooms were $267.25 a night each, $534.50 for the pair. That’s about $64 a night less than an Art of Animation family suite on the same dates, and you get two bathrooms and two doors that close. Pop Century shares its Skyliner station with Art of Animation.

Disney needs an adult in each room, and connecting rooms are a request Disney tries to meet, not a promise.

And if you’d sleep in a tent? A Fort Wilderness campsite takes 8 for $126 a night. You bring the tent.

Sold out for your dates?

Rooms for six sell out first, and they do come back when other families change plans. We watch your dates and text and email you when one opens, with the room and the price, and you book it on Disney’s site. One payment, from $19.99, no subscription.

Common questions

Which Disney World resorts have family suites?

Two: Art of Animation and All-Star Music. Both are Value resorts, and both suites sleep six with two bathrooms and a kitchenette.

Do any Value resort rooms sleep 5?

Not the standard rooms. Every standard room at Pop Century, Art of Animation and the three All-Stars sleeps four. For five at a Value price, you need a family suite. The cheapest standard rooms that take five are at Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach, both Moderates.

Does a baby count toward the limit?

No. Disney counts everyone aged 3 and up, and lets one child under 3 in a crib stay on top of that. Two adults and three kids aged 7, 4 and 1 count as a party of four.

What’s the cheapest Disney World room for a family of 6?

A family suite. For our February week, the cheapest room for six was $598 a night, at Art of Animation, because All-Star Music’s were sold out. Across three other weeks, All-Star Music’s ran about $150 a night less than Art of Animation’s.

Is a family suite cheaper than two rooms?

Not always. Two Pop Century rooms were $534.50 a night for the pair, about $64 less than an Art of Animation family suite on the same dates. Disney needs an adult in each room, and connecting rooms are a request, not a promise.
