The short answer

Hardly anyone puts Saratoga Springs on a list of the best Disney hotels, and the scores say they should. It ties for first of all 32 for under-fours and for adults, scores 9 for ages 4 to 6, and sits above average for ages 7 to 13. All that costs about $506 a night, against $878 for the Grand Floridian.

Why doesn't anyone talk about it? There's nothing to photograph. It's a big DVC resort spread around a lake near Disney Springs, with no theming and no story, and every park is a bus. What it has instead is space, kitchens and laundry, which matter more over a week with five people than a themed lobby does.

Book it if: you have kids of different ages, you want room and a kitchen, and you'd rather put the difference into park days.
Skip it if: you want to walk or ride to a park. Every one is a bus here, and the best score is 5 out of 10.

Which room to ask for

Rooms open to the outside rather than onto an internal corridor. This is a spread-out resort. Rooms are in separate sections away from the main dining and the main pool, far enough that an internal bus exists, so which section you land in changes the stay more than the room does. A request costs nothing and is never guaranteed, so make it at booking and again a day or two before you arrive.

Everyone This resort is very large and spread across several sections with their own bus stops. Ask for Congress Park if you want to walk to Disney Springs, or The Springs if you want to be near the main pool, the food and the lobby.
With young children Ask for The Springs. High Rock Spring pool, the counter service and the bus stop are all there, and the other sections are a long walk with children.
With a stroller Ask for a ground-floor room. The doors open to the outside, so anything above the ground floor means carrying the stroller up and down every time you leave.
With a mobility need Ask for a ground-floor room close to the bus stop, and confirm the building has an elevator before you arrive.

Every measure, against the other 30

Disney does not set a height minimum on its resort waterslides, unlike the water parks. Riders go down one at a time and land in water deep enough to swim in, so the question is whether your child swims on their own, not how tall they are.

Rank is out of all 32 Disney resorts on that one measure. The park rows show the fastest route Disney actually runs, so a bus and a monorail are not scored the same even when the map says they are the same distance.

Where it wins

Tied for best on property for under-fours and for adultsOnly four resorts top both lists at once, and Saratoga Springs and Old Key West are the two cheapest of them. No full-service Deluxe comes close for the money.
More to do than resorts twice the priceBike and surrey rentals, fishing, tennis, basketball, a community hall, playgrounds, an arcade and a health club, plus the Lake Buena Vista golf course on site.
About $506 a nightBelow the property average, for a Deluxe villa with a kitchen and laundry. Two breakfasts in the room and a midweek wash change a week's budget more than the nightly rate does.
A boat to Disney SpringsNot a park, but it means dinner and shopping without a bus, the one trip this resort does well.

Where it loses

Every park is a busMagic Kingdom 4, EPCOT 5, Hollywood Studios 4, Animal Kingdom 3. Nothing here is quick.
The pool is ordinaryBelow the property average. There's a slide and a nice zero-entry edge, but it isn't a reason to book.
It has no storyNamed after a town in New York and themed around horse racing, and that's as far as it goes. If you want Disney to look like Disney, you won't find it here.
It's hugeFive sections spread around a lake, with internal buses between them. Ask for Congress Park or The Springs unless you like walking.

What it costs

About $506 a night on average, a little under the property average, for a Deluxe villa with a kitchen. Old Key West is its closest match at about $511 and scores almost the same, so treat the two as interchangeable and book whichever is available.

Across 53 check-in weeks, a night here ranged from $465 to $747, a swing of 61%. The cheapest week checked in on August 16, 2027 and the priciest on December 28, 2026.

Room only, before tax, for a four night midweek stay for two adults, read from Disney on September 27, 2026.

Why hardly anyone books Saratoga Springs

It sits next to Disney Springs, not next to a park, so it never comes up when people talk about park access. That's also why it's cheap.

The studios and one-bedrooms are some of the bigger rooms Disney rents, and space doesn't photograph well. Every list of great Disney hotels is built from photos.

The buses are the real complaint. Saratoga Springs shares stops with Old Key West on some routes and has five internal stops of its own, so a full bus at rope drop does happen.

The Treehouse Villas are on the same booking but a long way from everything else, sleep nine, and are basically a different resort. Good to know before you accept one.

Common questions

Who is Saratoga Springs best for?

Families with kids of different ages who'd rather have space than theming. It ties for first of all 32 for under-fours and for adults, at about $506 a night, roughly what a Moderate costs and well under the Deluxes it outscores.

Why is Saratoga Springs so cheap?

No theming, no walkable park, and a spot by Disney Springs instead of by a park gate. Disney charges for location and story, and this has neither, which is why the space is such good value.

Saratoga Springs or Old Key West?

Almost interchangeable. Old Key West averages about $511 against $506 and has slightly bigger rooms, while Saratoga is closer to Disney Springs and has the golf course. Both tie for first of 32 for under-fours and for adults.

Is Saratoga Springs good for a family of five?

Yes, if you book a one-bedroom. Those sleep five, where the studios sleep four plus a baby under 3, and the one- and two-bedrooms have kitchens and laundry, and a two-bedroom fits eight or nine.

How do you get to the parks from Saratoga Springs?

By bus to all four, and by boat to Disney Springs. Magic Kingdom scores 4 out of 10, EPCOT 5, Hollywood Studios 4 and Animal Kingdom 3.
